Oswego Central Station Headquarters
Oswego, Illinois
Superintendent: Mike Testa
Updated on: 5-20-09
Oswego’s current headquarters is over 30 years old and is outdated. The new 44,000 SF central fire station will have 15 bunks, 8 apparatus bays, 1 maintenance bay, and 6 small vehicle bays. Aesthetically, the village wanted to incorporate elements of an old Chicago fire house into the new station. The old Chicago Style architecture included in the design
is complete with a bell tower and traditional red overhead doors.
Traditional design was incorporated into the interior as well with the fire commander’s platform and sliding poles. The project will be completed in 2009 for an estimated cost of $10.8 Million. |
